It is an excellent product for basecoats, topcoats, and to be used in glazing techniques. Enkaustikos Wax Medium is made from U.S. Pharmaceutical Grade Refined Beeswax and Damar Resin. All Enkaustikos paints are highly pigmented and require wax medium to enhance their flow and workability. If you are new to encaustic painting you will soon find out that wax medium is your "go to" medium and you will use a lot of it. It can be used to create textures or can be added to Enkaustikos Wax Paints to increase transparency for glazing techniques. Wax Medium is ideal for mixing with your own pigments to make custom colors. It can also be used for collage, image transfer or applied as a topcoat to add depth to finished encaustic paintings.
